Regeneration
The government has set a national target to ensure within the next 10-20 years nobody will be at a serious disadvantage because they live in a particular area.
Where people live influences their opportunities in life. If you live in one of the country's most disadvantaged areas your choices may be very limited. Schools may not be good. Businesses could be struggling. Public transport and housing may be poor. Often the people who live in these areas have little choice over where and how they live.
Regeneration and renewal aims to help these areas. We do this by working with the communities to develop stable businesses, more job opportunities and a safer place to live with better schools, good homes and a sense of community.
